345th Bomb Group Missions Flown From Nadzab

From February through early July 1944, the 345th Bomb Group flew missions from the airfields at Nadzab, New Guinea. Most of their missions were against barges and installations along the north coast of New Guinea or ground support missions for the Allied troops that had made landings in the Admiralty Islands. Missions against enemy positions on New Britain and New Ireland were far fewer as the momentum of the war switched toward the west.

As with other maps in this series, not every mission target is displayed on this map, but rather, representative locations are shown in order to show the wide area covered by the 345th Bomb Group during this period.
