WW2 Combat Flights of Robert D. Larsen

According to an enlistment record on the Nation Archives and Records Administration (NARA-AAD) site, Robert D. Larsen was born in Washington State in 1921. He enlisted in the Air Corps as an Aviation Cadet on February 4, 1942 and claimed residence in King County, Washington.

He was single, without dependents, had completed one year of college, and listed actor as his civilian occupation.

Lt. Larsen was one of the original flying cadre of the 501st Bomb Squadron and arrived in New Guinea with the 345th Bomb Group in May 1943. He flew at least forty-two combat missions from June 1943 through May 1944.
