WW2 Combat Flights of Henry M. Worley, Jr., USAAF

Born in 1922, Henry M. Worley, Jr. was a resident of Tarrant County, Texas. He enlisted in the Air Corps on September 25, 1942 and according to the Enlistment Record on the NARA-AAD website, he had completed four years of high school, was single without dependents, and was employed as an electrician.

Sergeant Worley first appears in the flight records of the 500 Bomb Squadron while they were based at Tacloban, Leyte. Those records indicate that he flew on twelve combat missions that included strikes on land targets in the Philippines as well as coastal shipping sweeps along the Indochina and China coasts.

Sergeant Worley was killed in the crash of the B-25 Bold Venture on March 15, 1945 near Hong Kong.
